Carl H. Hoog

Bloomington – Carl H. Hoog, 82 of Rockford, formerly of Bloomington passed away at 9:22 PM on Sunday January 14, 2018 at River Bluff Nursing Home in Rockford.

 

There will be a funeral service for Carl Saturday January 20, 2018 at 1 PM at Beck Memorial Home in Bloomington. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM Saturday at the Memorial Home. Pastor Jason Collins will officiate. Interment will be in Blooming Grove Cemetery in Bloomington.

 

Beck Memorial Home in Bloomington is handling arrangements.

 

Carl was born January 1, 1936 in Bloomington to John and Mae Martin Hoog. They preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters Barbara (Duane) Shirley of Machesney Park, IL and Jennifer (John) Freeman of Skokie, two grandchildren Randy Hedrick and Heather (Ryan) Oliva, one great-granddaughter Rose Oliva, as well as one sister Carol Crow of Normal and one half- brother Doug (Joyce) Powell of New Zealand, and two half-sisters Orlenia Clawitter and Connie Tincher both of Bloomington. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Bill and John Hoog and one sister Madeline Baker as well as three half-brothers Lawrence and Lee Hoog and Jim Schagrue.

 

Carl worked for Illinois State University as a janitor for 25 years. Prior to that worked at K-Mart Foods as a clerk. He retired in 1997.

 

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Bloomington . He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and his greatest loves were Bingo, Fishing and spending time with his family.
